An A+ Tuberider Who Funds His Travels With Manual Labor | Skip McCullough's Holy Video

The name Skip McCullough might not register on your surfing rolodex. But ask anyone on the QS who they most fear when the waves get cylindrical, and the La Jolla local will be at the top of their list.

Skip won the Cloud 9 comp back in 2018, put on a huge performance at Lance’s right in 2016, and rode one of the best waves we’ve ever seen in a QS event in Chile last year. Not to mention that he’s bagged over a dozen legitimate bombs between Pipe and OTW in the past few winters.

While Skip is supported by brands like Brixton and Xanadu, he supplements his travel budget by working as a fence-builder between trips in his hometown of La Jolla.

The video above captures some of Skip’s finest moments from the past few years of traveling. It is a tube-riding masterclass.

Film by Ryan Johnson.
